Changes to Rolling Student Accounts

Last year, MHMB launched rolling student accounts as a way for family and friend to donate money in direct support of a specific student’s musical education. These accounts were used for more than $13,000 in donations that most students used to help pay for the Forum Music Festival trip this past May. All unused funds have rolled forward and will be available for them to use in support of their musical education needs in the 2026-2027 school year.
While the initial roll out of this program worked well, we have made a few changes to simplify things for our donors, our families, and our accounting system. While the program works in the exact same way, you will notice the following changes:
- Donors will no longer need to scroll through a long list of names looking for a student. Instead, they will be prompted to enter the student’s first and last name when making their donation.
- Donors taking advantage of company matching will no longer need to complete a separate form to let us know. Instead, they will be prompted to provide basic tracking information when making their donation. If we need further information, we will reach out.
- Families will no longer be required to complete a form to request an account be set up. All funds will be added to their existing accounts once the transactions are fully processed.
- Families will no longer need to email us to find out what their account balance is. Upon logging in to our website or accessing your account via the app, you will automatically see your Account Credit balance.
A few reminders about these student donation accounts…
- Donations made in a student’s name will stay with them throughout their time at MHHS and can be used to support everything from uniforms to competitions to festivals. Funds may not be used to pay for any fundraiser products like concert tickets, concessions, pajama pants, etc.
- When the student leaves MHHS due to a transfer or graduation, any remaining funds will automatically move to the General Fund and provide continuing support for all students in our Music Programs.
- Once fully processed, donations will appear as Account Credits on the family account, viewable on your “My Account” page when logged in. It can take up to 72 hours for these funds to be visible on their account.
- Donations to this account are eligible for Company Matching funds. When making your donation, you will be prompted for additional information to aid in tracking matching funds. If you need assistance with this, please contact our Treasurer, Vicki Beckman, at Treasurer@MHMusicBoosters.org.
